Aeroelastic effects of external stores (missile, smart bomb, etc.) certified to air platforms are studied by means of both numerical and test methods. Aeroelastic Certification Program includes basically stages of Aeroelastic Ground Vibration Tests (GVT), Finite Element Model Updating, Aeroelastic Analyses, Flutter Flight Tests. Stages that will be covered during the project are determined according to experience and criticality level.
The ultimate goal of Aeroelastic Certification Program, is to determine the flight envelope of the air platform with stores, will not undergo any critical aeroelastic instabilities and has satisfactory damping characteristics within the prescribed flight envelope for the external store configuration(s) of concern.
